If network marketing is a sales business, who do you think will most likely be successful in the business? Yes, a salesman. However, if I tell you that the more experience a salesman is, the more likely he is to fail.

He may be the greatest salesperson in the world, but as long as his network of people doesn’t duplicate, his organisation cannot grow. If his organisation cannot grow, he is not having any leverage on his earning power. He can bring in 25 people in his first month into the business, but 23 of them left his network after a month. He then brings in another 20 people and this time 19 of them left his network. In time to come, he will become very exhausted because of the time he has put in vs the results he is getting.

In general context, a salesperson has the ability to convince people that he has the best product or best compensation plan in the world, thus, tempting people to join him in his journey to create wealth. However, the people who joined his network might not possess the ability equal to that of the salesperson. Thus, when people cannot do what they think need to be done in order to succeed, they will give up.

As such, one must understand that network marketing is not a sales business, it is actually a training and teaching business. In order to build a big and strong organisation, one must own a system that can be easily duplicate by the people he brings into the business. If the people a network marketer sponsored is able to duplicate the actions that had brought them into the business in the first place, they can then bring in more people using the same method. This duplication method is then passed down generation after generation, thus building a powerful duplication network.

The amazing thing is, you only brought in 5 people and teach them how to duplicate so that they each can bring in another 5 people and again duplicate the system. In network marketing, it is not the number of people you brought into the business, but the number of people you successfully train and teach.
